Stoltzfus Meats began in 1954 through the hard work of family man, Amos Stoltzfus. What started as a simple business of traveling to New Castle, DE to sell home butchered, smoked meats has evolved into a thriving enterprise with 115 employees in Intercourse, PA.
Today, Amos' son, J. Myron Stoltzfus, carries on the family's tradition of quality. Through his leadership, the company has expanded its product line of fresh and smoked meats and opened three retail operations - Allentown Fairgrounds, New Castle, DE and the Ardmore Farmers Market. Last fall, Stoltzfus opened a new, larger retail space in Intercourse, which includes a deli with indoor and outdoor seating. In addition, the company sells products wholesale to like vendors in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas.
Operating under the motto "small enough to serve and big enough to deliver", Stoltzfus Meats strives to provide consistently good quality products, focusing on foods that form the core of the kitchen table menu.
As Stoltzfus Meats has grown in its delivery of products, North Group Consultants has helped the company grow and groom its leadership. As part of that process, they've created a leadership team made of people with a balanced group of strengths. Myron Stoltzfus says about North Group Consultant, Daryl Leisey: "There's a lot of value in having an independent voice and ear and in having someone to hold me accountable. We've learned from North Group how to best deal with people issues in the company."
