Gerald brings 40 years of executive leadership of nonprofit organizations. As former President and CEO of United Disabilities Services for 26 years, he worked to accomplish the organization's mission through corporate management, acquisition management, fundraising oversight, strategic planning, operations oversight and community networking. During his tenure, UDS drew recognition for outstanding leadership from Lancaster Newspapers, was named one of PA's most innovative nonprofits by Central Penn Business Journal and received the Samaritan Counseling Center's Ethics in Business Award.
Gerald serves on numerous nonprofit boards of directors, is Chairman of Diamond Street Early Childhood Center, and is an Adjunct Professor at Millersville University. He holds a B.S. in Sociology and Psychology from Eastern Mennonite University and a M.Ed. from Millersville University. He's a graduate of the Management Institute, Columbia University.
Gerald and his wife, Lynette, reside in Akron, PA, and are parents of two adult children and have three grandchildren. When the wind is blowing, Gerald enjoys sailing on the Chesapeake Bay aboard his sailboat Knot@Work.
